Epitaph: To the memory of the Revd Charles McKnight for many years a beloved Pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Monmouth County New Jersey. He departed this life Jany 1st 1778.
The Presbyterian Revd Charles McKnight preached against the British during the Revolution. His church in Middletown Point, New Jersey was burned by British soldiers and he was taken prisoner to New York. He died a prisoner in 1778. He is the father of Dr. Charles McKnight two plots to the left.

Also to the memory of his son Richard McKnight captain in the American Army of the Revolution
His son Richard McKnight, a Captain in the Continental Army, also died a British prisoner on a ship in the Wallabout. He is the older brother of Dr. Charles McKnight two plots to the left.
